Allt började 1992, då Nicke köpte 2 motorer från Volvo 850 som han skulle använda i sin dåvarande rallycrossbil - en Volvo360 - men under kvalkörningen i SM-deltävlingen på Pengfors motorstadium i Vännäs, så gick det som det gick - bakom speakertornet slog vänster framhjul i vallen och en vådlig kullerbytta blev utförd, med karossbyte som följd.

Då kom det på tal om Volvos 850-modell som underlag för nästa bil och det var då som även Micke sa,"då bygger jag också en" och började sökandet efter karosser hos bilskrotarna, men utan att få tag på några.

Micke tog kontakt med Volvo för att köpa karosser, men där blev det nobben. Citat från telefonsamtalet - "Det ska inte komma ut några bastarder på banorna!" - slut citat.

Så Nicke köpte Pite-Pelles Daf och fortsatte att köra här uppe i Norrland.

Men sen på hösten 1996 så släpper dom ut karosserna och det berättade Nicke för Micke på en fredag, i augusti.

På måndag morgon så ringer Micke till Steffanssons Automotive, SAM och beställer en kaross, men säger ej något till Nicke.

Micke går bara runt och ler, men efter 14 dagar så kan han inte hålla det hemligt längre utan talar om det och får ett vrål från lillebror som svar, som ser mycket olycklig ut för han vill ju också åka "nybil"(Daffen står ju uppe i skogen efter en startsmäll och är dessutom ej längre godkänd i SM-sammanhang längre!). Efter att ha sett Nickes olyckliga min i några veckor så kan inte deras farsgubbe hålla sig, utan beställer en kaross till.

 

 

It all started in 1992 when Niklas - "Nicke" brought home 2 engines from Volvo 850, that he should use in his racecar, a Volvo 360. But during the qualification laps in the Swedish Championship at Pengfors Motor Stadium in Vannas, he wasn´t so successfull - so well, behind the speakertower, he let a left-front wheel go into the gravel and the car made one terrible turnover and it resulted in a change of chassis.

After that he talked about Volvo´s 850 model as next car to build and it was in that moment Mikael - "Micke" said -"OK- I shall build one also". They started to look for some chassis at the junkyards - but nothing was found to build on.

Then Micke contacted the firm of Volvo to asking for a brand new chassis and here comes a negative quotation from the phonecall made -"and it´s not going to be any bastards on the racetracks" - end quotation.

So Nicke brought another car from Pite-Pelles, a Daf and continued to drive in the northern parts of Sweden.

The story changed direction in the autumn of 1996 whenVolvo finally lets the chassis go out on the market.When Nicke finds out he tells Micke so - a Friday in August - and next Monday morning Micke calls Steffanssons Automotive SAM and orders 1 chassis, but doesn´t tell Nicke

Micke is just walking around with a smile on his face for 2 weeks or so, but after that he can not keep the secret any longer. He has to tell - and Nicke answers with a scream and get´s a very sad look in his face, because he also wants to drive a new car (the Daf was placed in the forest with a demolished side after a start accident and it was not allowed to be used in the Swedish Championships any more). After seeing Nicke´s sad face for a couple of weeks, their father orders a additional chassis.
